Gamers Are Friends, Not Items To Be Beaten Upon . . .

Post by OperatorGlyph » Sun Jun 15, 2003 1:28 pm

Hello and greetings from the coast of Maine! Obviously, I'm new, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here. That much is obvious. Unfortunatly, the best geek I can be is a RPGer geek that happens to know a little l337. But I've accepted that fact. I have no PC, which is also sad. I have a mac. My brother has a PC. I think there may be some sort of gender bias there . . . :( .
I work in a Game Store that sells non-electronic games, which is pretty cool. I also volunteer at a youth center (which is odd because technically I am still youth) but we cater to gamers. You know, D&D, Magic, any White Wolf series game, Cyberpunk, Mutant Chronicals, etc. If you've heard of it, we've probably ran it at some point.
Aside from that, um, I live for music. I'll probably be going to college for it. I love any music really. Except country. Bluegrass, fine, country, no. I'm open for new suggestions on listening material any time. Have any questions? Ask away, I'm a very open person. I'll answer NEARLY every questions shot out at me.

No, I haven't. Yes, he lives in Maine. *laughs* I wish I have. I've seen John Travolta's house here though.

I live in Belfast Maine. Its nice. A half an hour from Rockport or Camden. An hour from Bangor. For some reason we get tourists . . . *looks confused*. . . But then I sell stuff and get paid so its all worth it. I don't know. Maybe tourist think short, very "happy" clerks are cute and feel obligated to spend money in the store which might have the classic "Maine Charm" that everyone is looking for. Although, I don't know how a game store can have "Maine Charm" . . .

Couldn't agree with you more on the music. And welcome to the forums. It was decided long ago that there is a lack of female gamers in the world, and it's good to see someone trying to be a solution to that problem.

Welcome to the forums!

Hah. I may be a newb here, but i've been here for like 2 weeks man, and that qualifies me to say welcome.

:D

Do you play any instruments, or just like music in general? Do you study it or just enjoy?

Once again, welcome to the forums!

Music is nearly my life. I study it, play it, sing it, listen to it, and it takes over my world. I still have a long way to go though. I don't know enough. I play on going to college for music, specifically music theory. I want to either become a famous musician, become a professor of music theory at a college, or do both.

I would break out images of me in a bikini . . . eccept that there are none.

As a female gamer, I promise to um . . . play games and keep the image of the rare and mythical female gamer alive! We are scarce and far between, but never loose faith. Someday a male gamer will spot a rare female gamer beast and feel that his life is now complete . . .

And on that memorable day (for it will be memorable) the legend of the female gamer will travel on to reach the ends of the Earth. The legend will travel through time itself until one day, some simple weary traveller will rise up and shout, "It is my quest to find the female gamer! And I shall travel until . . . "

And thats where the story ends, my friends. For I am falling asleep as I type and have feasted on much sugar throughout the day! Farewell, farewell, parting is such sweet sorrow and all that good stuff!
