";p="98411"]
Um...It's a thread about absinthe. Seems quite pertinent to me. Can't say I see what the problem is.
Then you have no problem with me using the word "lush" either, since it refers to liquor and liquor users, correct? I mean, since this is a thread about absinthe.
No, I don't. I'm not the one with the problem. I'm not going to agonize over people with puritanical viewpoints. Although, I think it's fair that I respond if someone calls me stupid.
Just making sure, Miss Non-Puritanical. Though I didn't call you "stupid", just a lush. I almost did, though, when you tried to compare prescription medication as something just as bad as alcohol.

But I'll refrain and let you live in your dream world. I mean, obviously you know all there is to comparisons if you want to make such a blanket statement. 8)

I did see the word stupid there, which is the only thing that upset me, since I believe the word "lush" to be completely meaningless. If we can talk about it in a friendly manner, you might want to do a little research on prescription medication. Blindly believing anything a doctor gives you must be completely safe is quite dangerous as even good doctors will tell you. You might also want to research how much alcohol can have any kind of significant long term effect on your body. I assure you it's more than three glasses.

yeah,.. 3 glasses won't have a perminate effect on you,. though it's proberbly very good for your digestive system,....... 3 glasses a day, or binge drining most of a bottle, alone, in a single night one a month, on the other WILL,. it'll take about 10 to 15 years off your life if you keep it up,.........

Daemon: Actually it depends... If you bought it from the alko (liquor store) nextdoor, then it should be okay, but if you bought it from a pirate, then... who knows...

Oh, and my great grandmother had a glass of whiskey every day and lived 93 years. I've often wondered that if she wouldn't have drunk then would she have lived forever?

Who is to say I have not researched -- not been involved with the use of -- prescription medication? You assume from the get go that I think all medication prescribed is fine and dandy, and anyone who uses what is prescribed will end up happy. Nice try, but ... no.

I merely point out that making such a blanket statement as "it's just as bad as prescription medication or worse" is irrational and unintelligent. Furthermore, some prescription medications help some people. Some harm some people.

Alcohol does not help any people, when it comes to mental/physical effects of the long-term variety. While there have been plenty of documented negative results from the long-term use which have been debated and found conclusive and to hold strong merit, debate about the positive effects is still ongoing and inconclusive. So I see no grounds for comparison.

And it's also doubtful that you have never, ever, at any other time in your life, not drank alcohol. The point is not about "three glasses of absinthe" as you are trying to minimize the issue, but of a much more larger scale. kthx?

Dj Nautinto, interesting consuming a small amount of alcohol each day is actually good for you,....... but Absinthe contains Wormwood and other nasty things,. which is rather bad for you,....... but 1.5 pints of beer a day will add about 10 years to your life,......

umm,. and lune,. could just drop it?,.... i'd like to keep this friendly,... take it to PM if you want to keepit up, eh?

If you drink alcohol you might have to be asking yourself these questions...

I've got lots to say in reply, but I'll be taking this to PM in order to keep the peace.

One thing, though. I was at one point studying towards a counseling degree and a huge part of it was substance abuse. It was drummed into us that one to two glasses a day of alcohol are beneficial. There is a miniscule chance that it (like anything else) could be wrong, but it is considered fact in the medical industry.
