Hey, I said it was an ANGSTY game... not all that great, plot wise.

Though the movies were VERY well done! ^.^

And... Lith is currently middle of a war. You may either join the Laws of Lith or the Anti Bishie Rebellion, the Rebellion is against me, the Llaws are for me.

Take your pic, and look them up in the anime section!

Lithium Flower is correct, Final Fantasy 8 was a fairly good game. Mind you the whole time compression thing was a bit on the stupid side, but other than that it was a good game. Awesome movie scenes ^_^. Soth is also correct, Trillian is alot better than running both ICQ and AIM, plus it takes up less memory.

Most of the people I know are dissatisfied with windows, and I've gotten quite a few of them to make the switch to Linux. So far no one is unhappy with Linux.

And Macs....what can I say about Macs. Hmmm well they have good hardware, but...I can honestly say the only OS I've ever seen crash and reboot 7 times in a row was Mac OS. Crash and reboot, crash and reboot, and so on till my friend yanked the power cable and said screw it. I personnaly prefer computers that look badass rather than like modern art.

Anywho...pants... bwhahahaha ^.^

FF8 != Good game.

But, I digress, thats getting us off topic, take yer FF8 discussion to the video game forum, where you can read the two threads that devolved into debates about it.

The only problem lith would have switching to Linux would be the software problem.

Some of the software lith knows how to use is available on Linux, and it makes lith waver on purchasing a system she might have that kind of issue adapting to at this point in time. (This point in time being college. Had been HS, lith would have already been using linux by now! ^.^)

Are there software equivilents of PhotoShop and Premiere for Linux, since lith knows that there are definitly good writing programs, and html can be done on any writing program.

And... is IE available for linux? (some of the site's lith visits need IE to function properly, thanks to that copyrighted JAVA microsoft uses.. :evil: )

1. Gimp is Linux's Photoshop. It works rather well, or so I'm told.
2. Think about that statement for a little bit Lith ('Is IE available for Linux? Some sites take copyrighted Java that Microsoft uses.'). The answer should be rather clear.

Well, IE is available for Mac's, but lith isn't sure if it's available for linux... and the site's never do list if they're linux compatible, only...

It used to be available for Unix OSes, but Microsoft dropped support for it a few years ago.

Sites are not Linux compatible, or Windows compatible, or whatever. They're sites. How they are rendered depends on the engine you're using on your given computer. There are some sites that will not function without Microsoft's implementation of Java, but for the most part, most sites will work fine with Sun's implementation.

HAI!

Danke, MB, but now lith knows she's going to have to stick with WinXP, because she knows specifically which site's use Microsoft's Java, and won't work without them.

And she uses those site's almost daily... ;_;

Yeah, but Microsoft considers Linux to be today's OS/2 Warp. There have been, I think, TWO programs of microsoft's which they allowed someone else to port to Linux. And I don't recall which two they were, although I believe Media Player was one of 'em.

There was a Media Player for Unix, yes. They were ported to Unix, though, not Linux, because of the number of people that wanted a well-known browser for their Unix boxes; it was the Unix interoperability of Linux that allowed the programs to work on those platforms.

It should be noted that Microsoft no longer offers its Java for download, and indeed, released WinXP Service Pack 1a which removes the JVM from Windows. Service Pack 2 (probably due later this year) will likely also remove whatever Windows JVM remains for those who installed the original SP1. This was done to comply with a court order in a case involving Microsoft and Sun.

Hmmm now I know what yummies I can look fowared to. Hopefully I can get my hands on a 2.4c this coming friday as well. Although I will be running on the IC7, didnt see a huge need to get the G for the gigabit lan card. Not much of an overcloker either.

I want to get hyperX but cant afford it yet, I was thinking of going the next step down, kingston 2x128 pc3200 dual channel mode for $50 should work just as good for the short run :D

No, Lith, it's still ongoing, and has been for almost a year now.
