Whats everyone's favorite bands?

Post by Jaffy » Fri Jul 18, 2003 4:17 pm

OK everyone post your favorite bands/types of music
mine are: The Oranges Band, The Flaming Sideburns, Taking Back SUnday, Sunny Day Real Estate, Bright Eyes, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Clash. i guess my favorite types of music would be garage rock, semi-emo, experimental, and 70's rock/punk/metal

Hmm.. at least I know a few of those... Sunny Day Real Estate, and of course Radiohead, Doors, and Zepplin.

I don't have a favorite group though.

Tori Amos.

After her greatness I'd have to say...The Smiths, The Cure, Better Than Ezra, and Fountains of Wayne.

Oh yeah, and lately I've really been into Good Charlotte. And AFI's newest album, though I don't like the older stuff much.

:P

Edit: I forgot Guster! And Toad the Wet Sprocket! Eep!

My favorite new band: Evanessence
My favorite DJ: Paul Oakenfold (with DJ Tiësto being a close runner up)
My favorite live performance by a band: The Tea Party with the Montreal Symphony
My favorite classical composer: J.S. Bach
My favorite accapella tune: Barrets Privateers
My favorite.....

As for my favorite musical type I can honestly say I don't have one... and if you looked at my musical collection you'd have to believe me (example in order from my CD stack: Sonique - Hear My Cry, Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream, The Tea Party - TRIPtych, Jewel - Spirit, Alice in Chains - Unplugged, Copland - Rodeo/Billy the Kid/Appalachian Spring, Paul Oakenfold - Global Underground 004 Live from Oslo)

Better Than Ezra rocks! And so does Cake! Weezer, Radiohead, and the Beatles are Awesome. Let me see, who else? The White Stripes, The Strokes, and The Vines. I also like OkGo, Ani Difranco and the Soggy Bottom Boys.

Locally I like Jolly Roger, Clearly Blind, and The Cheapskates. I suppose I should also mention my friends band (although it may have broken up...) Slightly Jaded.

And for a more mellow/rennie sound I go for The Soil Bleeds Black, the Brobdingnagian Bards, Clannad, the Angles of Venice, Enya, and Lorenna McKennitt.
