I swapped my 512DDR RAM for my sister's 256DDR RAM. Four straight hours of CS and no crashes so far. I'll update this thread in two days or if I blue screen. Thx to everyone for all your help so far.

What brand is the ram you are using? I generally recomend to people not to get any kind of generic ram. The best ram that ive found are Micron and cruicial (sp?) and its pretty much micron with a different name. also kingston and corsair are good brands.
I really need a new sig....

I have no idea what brand of RAM I'm using, but the RAM swap worked. Thx to everyone for all your help. Sadly, a new problem arouse after I upgraded my LinkSys firmware.

I hope this thread provides some help to those who are experiencing the same problem as I was.

I'm using SKYY ram, its rather "schweet" you might say. And now i just realized that when my mom inherets this computer within the next two months, she is going to have one 512 stick (which was 150 bucks when i bought it). Oh well, I'll have to make up for it by buying 768 for my next b0x3n.
hahaha i don't come to these forums anymore :x

If you think the drive could be the problem and formatting doesn't fix it then go to the site for your drice and download the zeroing software that will really check it.

I had the same problem when I use my XP rig with my PCI GeForce card and modem. No problem when the modem isn't plugged in. and no problem since I gave up and took out the card (i.e. I can no longer play Morrowing :( )

That's a resource conflict. Did you try moving the modem to another slot? Most motherboards are set up so that pairs of PCI slots share resources (PCI Slot #1 shares resources with the AGP slot, if there is one), and this can lead to problems with devices that use as many dedicated resources as video cards.

Would moving the video card help, considering the modem came with the machine?

Moving either one off of the pair should work, but generally, a video card should be on its own pair, though if you have to combine two cards on a pair and one is a video card, the other should be the absolute lowest-use card possible, like a PS2 port or something like that.
