TopCat: Shut up. All you've managed to do in here is to create confusion for him, with your talk of bridging connections and crossovers. He came here for help, got confused, followed the first advice given, and has learned a lesson. You're not so smart, either, it would seem.
Besides, he's not even in the United States, so no, there would appear to be no CC near him since CC does not appear to operate outside of the US.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.
He never mentioned his location. And, We've never actually determined whether he's using ICS or not, grimace brought it up and now he's been saying hes got it, he doesnt have it, a lot of stuff. I was thinking about the situation.
If he had one of those dsl modems which also connect via usb, he could connect it to his computer over usb (1.5megabits, isnt usb? if its usb2.0 on both, then there is no worries). and connect the OTHER two over crossover in their NIC's. one piece of crossover is cheeper than a router, i think. however, it may not be the right length, and I dont know if theres any connectors which will do internal crossover of cat5. I'm thinking of something that looks like this

which basically is just a connector which does crossover. Heck, if he cant get one like that, he could get a crossover and a straight-through connector. It's just my insane ideas.

It's in his sig, and if there's any doubt, in his profile.

He also said he had done all the things I had first recommended, which included ICS.And, We've never actually determined whether he's using ICS or not
USB 1.1 is 12Mbit, and I have no clue where you're going with the rest of your comment.

You might recognize the CANADIAN Peter Jennings, living in the USA.

How about the Canadian alex trabek? They're canadians, but they dont live in canada.
Now, his profile does rectify the situation, but his sig doesnt. I don't check everyones profiles. Sorry. However, I am sure they have technology stores in canada. OH well, fuck it.
I was also trying to point out that he didn't HAVE to have two nics in one pc. The rest of the comment was to point out how to solve the problem by only buying another cable.
And yes, i remember now, usb1.1 is 12 megs. I dont remember why I was thinking 1.5megabits.
EDIT: i've been out of it for the past week, dont worry. I'll regain my brain in time.
