Win2k and CD Drive Issue (URGENT)

Post by Quietus » Mon Jul 28, 2003 2:13 am

I just did a fresh install of Win2k on my old K-7 box, and ran into a major problem. My bios detects the presence of both my DVD-ROM and CD-RW drives, but windows will only detect them in safe mode. when not in safe mode, there isn't even an error. they just aren't there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I need to use this computer at a LAN party in a couple days as one of the game servers.

Probably chipset drivers. You're likely running on the basic Windows drivers for the chipset. Look for those first.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

It worked like a charm, though I did it before I read your post. Thanks a bunch.
