Don't you love it when...

Post by V'Lyandra » Mon Jul 28, 2003 6:52 pm

...your internet goes down? On a Friday. so it doesn't get fixed 'till after the weekend?

Comcast is awfully helpful. I call them, tell them that my cable went down Friday morning, then the TV cable came back but internet didn't. They told me to reset the box (which I had done a million times already) and then said that yes, they knew there was a problem and would I call again if it still didn't work in 24 hours? 24 hours later, I call, and they tell me the exact same thing. Yet another 24 hours later, I call again and...yeah. You get the idea. I'm considering pulling a Greg and storming them with a Claymore. I miss my internet ;___;

Usually telling them that its been 3 days should trigger something. Especially if you ask for a supervisor.

It's comcast, they like to blink the cable. They do it to me all the time, it's usually for short periods, but just in those cases, I've got a trusty 56k on backup duty.

I havent had anything more than a little packet loss in months, its worthwhile getting a decent provider.

Oh yes, I do love that.

Every time the ownership changes I get to sit there down for a week or more

ATTBI was the worst though, I was down for well over a month. It blew. Thank god for a t1 at work, saved my sanity.

Comcast also just randomly went down for like 2 weeks (why?)

But when it's working, I love comcast. :lol:

Apparently, when the cable went down, they never gave me back my internet. Apparently, they have to send down a professional to simply flip a switch to give me back my internet. Apparently, I will have no internet until at least Friday. So apparently, Comcast can bite me.

I want my internet! -__-

I have perfect, if not slow cable connection for a month or two, then boom. I'm down for a day. I keep praying it's them changing the t1 (I live in a small town) up to a t2 or a t3. But alas, it never happens, or I never notice the bandwith change.

I've had some bad experiences with Comcast as well. I had upgraded to their "Professional" service which is $90/mo for 3.5meg/384kb with 5 persistent (6 month) IPs

Long story short... The Ip's changed over 35 times in a 6 month period. Very disapointing considering the Service Contract stated that they would change once every 6 months at most. Dozens of calls to tech support wouldn't do anything, and to top it all off, we started to get long cable outages overnight as well... which is the time me and my bro are usually using the internet connection :evil:

It's settled down now and Comcast is finally keeping their end of the Service Contract. My IP's haven't changed recently, and I haven't had a major outage in awhile. Helleluja :)

Ah-ha! It's back. Comcast lied to me. Today, my internet just came on. Like BAMF! And I had internet. No technician, no nothing. I've never had my cable go down for 5 days like this.... I went through withdrawal. It sucked.
