Fave TV Shows

Post by Mo0 » Fri Aug 01, 2003 3:20 am

I just watched the M*A*S*H finale... it put me in a funk. Ya see, a great TV show is one that, as you watch it, you form an attachment to the characters in the show. I've probably watched about 10 % of the entire M*A*S*H run, and yet watching that finale made me cry. The characters just mean too much for me to see them leave, even if they'll be on the next day.

The main point of this thread, though, is to see what type of shows people watch. I've compiled a list of my top 10 shows, and I've put the year and type of show to the side of it. I'd like to see what other people would put in their top list, just as a fun thing to see how many people like 80's TV, or dramas. O_O

1. M*A*S*H (Drama/Comedy ("Dramady")) (1972 - 1983)
2. Cosby Show (Comedy) (1984 - 1992)
3. Law & Order (Drama/Crime) (1990 - today)
4. Cheers (Comedy) (1982 - 1993)
5. Saturday Night Live (Comedy) (1975 - today) (NOTE: contrary to most people's opinion, I prefer the newest SNL to the 80's SNL (which everyone seems to love.))
6. CSI (Drama/Crime) (2001 - today)
7. The Simpsons (Comedy) (1989 - today)
8. Married...With Children (Comedy) (1987 - 1997)
9. Three's Company (Comedy) (1977 - 1984)
10. Friends (Comedy) (1994 - today)

Go ahead and post your own top whatever number... personally I think it would be interesting ^_^

I got my dates for original airing of the shows from TV Tome, so head there if you want to be as neurotic as me ^_^

Calus: Get me a rifle!
Mike: What type?
Calus: Something painful... make it a Sniper rifle.
Mike: Right, Sir.

Mike Runs off and returns with a case. Calus takes the Case opens it up and starts assambling the rifle. He checks the scope and loads a round. He takes aim at NkryptiD. *bang* The bullet leaves the gun flying at its target. The round enters NKrypiD's left leg fraturing the leg. NKrypiD screams out in pain as he falls to the ground trying to drag himself to cover.

Calus: Aims off.
Mike: Sorry, Sir.

Another round is loaded. Calus aims again pulling the triger. *Bang* NKrypiD's right leg is smashed due to the second round. Calus loads a 3rd round. *Bang* A rock in front of NKrypiD's face explodes thanks to a bullet. NKrypiD's keeps trying to get to cover but the lack of both legs and the pieces of rock and the tears in his eyes are slowing him down. Calus loads a 4th round.

Calus: Should I put him down?
Mike: Um no sir, the lack of taste deserves torture more then death.
Calus: Ok.

Calus takes aim and shakes his head. Calus takes aim again then nods. *Bang* another Scream is heard from NKrypiD before he passes out.

Mike: Sir, Did you just geld him???
Calus: Lets go.

Calus and mike leave the thread with NKrypiD lieing on the ground still bleeding.

Fav shows in no real order (TV shows only, not the anime I download):
Futurama
The Simpsons
CSI
Rove Live
South Park
The Sketch Show

Uhhhhhh, that's about it. I don't watch much TV these days, lack of anime on it would be to blame :D

I would have to say that as of currently these would have to be my favorites:

Futurama
Family Guy
Trigun (even though its not on cartoon network anymore, but booyah Tony and I have the boxed set anyway!)

I am currently trying to finish Ceres but I still need to locate episodes 16-21. Pretty nifty in my opinion.
