Hmmm, let's put it this way. Reparations on the evas alone would be enough to bankrupt a small country. What kind of economy do you think they could possibly have? Not to mention the fact that they keep "accidently" destroying buildings. Not to mention that this is Tokyo 3, so that means it must have been destroyed like twice already.

There is no fucking Economy. ALL of the World's available resources go to support the Evas. It's like being under Martial Law. NERV gets anything they need, no questions asked. Everything else(and I mean everything) is second priority.
