RahXephon does remind me of Eva but i hear in the later episodes it makes a dramatic switch from Eva.

so far it seems as if they used Eva as a guide in making RahXephon, of course making sure it was not to close. So far meaning I have watched up to Ep 14 in RX.

finished RX and it so like Eva with a twist. At the end it starts diverging in structure but has a similar background theme.

I just meant that the last 4 eps of eva were very disappointing. I kept waiting for the climax, but there wasn't one. All he did was squish Kaoru, and then a lot of wierd stuff happened and I didn't understand it... Then all of the characters had psycho therapy or something for the last two eps, and then it ended.

OK, having seen the first 11 eps of RahXephon, I am prepared to announce that RX > NGE in every way. RX is very funny at times, but the action scenes are very well done. The decidedly NGE-influenced storyline is quite good, and it's much less depressing than NGE. Ayato, the main character, is actually cool, not a whiny bitch like Shinji. The mech designs are very good (for the most part), especially the RahXephon itself. Not only that but...

THE DUB IS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD!

Almost all of the characters have very good voice acting in English. Ayato especially is great.

Of course, my opinion may change. NGE was one of my favorite animes until the ending; let's hope RX is less disappointing.

The funny part is how blatantly they ripped off the NGE character designs. Rei = Quon, Asuka = Megumi, Misato = Haruka, etc, etc.

the ends are both left kinda leave you hanging, but i found out there is supposed to be a RX movie later. Hmm, i wonder doesn't Eva have a movie to try to resolve the end, wait the end is not resolved but does that mean Rx's movie end won't be either.

As with the character design i agree with you for the most part, but Rei=Quon, i am not sure about that, maybe you can clarify the connection between them, Aman

Rei and Quon are both mysterious, always making strange poems, creeping everyone out. Granted it's not a perfect comparison, but it's close enough for me.
