When one is dead, life goes on without you. Yet there is no point saying that because your dead and nothing , nothing and nothing, not even feeling nothing. Dead is the only word describing death, other words will just confuse the defintion and different generalization be made. So I think when a person dies, he is dead.
And dead means nothing and feeling nothing, that has to be made clear since no other scientific proof has exist otherwise. End.

You mean that there's scientific proof absolutely proving beyond a doubt that there is nothing after death?

I wrote something long. It started to get incoherent. It was originally a diatribe, almost, against Glue and his outlook. Then I realized how little focus it had, deleted it, and started over. /me sighs.
I take a very agnostic outlook towards life. I do not, nor do I believe I can currently or within my lifetime, have the capacity to gain the knowledge of what happens after I die.
And, ultimately, I don't believe it matters either way. This is my life. This may be my only life. I may be nothing after I die. This does not frighten me as it does some, or as it seems to frighten many. Instead, it motivates me.
This is my life. This is the only life I have. If nothing comes after it, I must make the most of it now.
That is the simple truth of my opinion. From this, I've come to the conclusion that's best stated as a quote: "There is no Justice ((with a cap J, as in the cosmic sense)), there is just us."
There is only us. You and me. Our lives are sacred because they're our one shot. In the end, there's nothing facing down the evil men, no cosmic punishment, no Hell, so we must stop them and give them justice now. There is no reward for our good actions in the afterlife, no Heaven, but there is memory.
This is all their is. As Severn posted quoting Gladiator, 'what we do, echoes in eternity'. As furre posted, even the smallest thing is effects or is remembered by at least one person. We must build a better future, that our memories are held and blessed by the future, for it is the only immortality or reward we have.
This is my life. I will make the most of it. I will try to leave the world a better place when I leave, and leave it a better world for the people I dare about.
And when I die, and I will die, if there is nothing, then I will be nothing and cease to care.
If there is another life beyond this one, I will view it AS I have viewed this one: My one shot at that life. I will take it as it comes and live for IT, not whatever comes afterwards.
This comforts me. This is how I know I'm alive, not just walking around.

this tread has really made me feel, useless..... just to be discarded, like I never lived....

Ahhh.....logic......
yes that (SF's monologue) is what I called logic, I like tread
Unfortunatly for me I do not have enough vocabuary skills to pull something like that.

I was watching TV last night and there is going to be a story today about a guy who died and then came back to life three days later. He said he went to Heaven and Hell.

Hm, interesting metaphor there.

The way I see it, while the thought of after-death may be interesting to talk about, it's something that no one will ever, ever truly know. So it's kind of pointless to talk about it. Whether we die and are gone forever, or actually live and die for another life in another place, I can't say for sure that I've decided. Everyone would like to believe that there is something more than just being born, and then disappearing someday. This could be true, but since you can't do anything but wonder about it... just live every day, every moment to the fullest you possibly can. Enjoy the ride - it could be the only chance you get.

Re: What happens when you die?
Well maybe we have spirits and souls that continue on.
Here's a way to look at life after death. First you chill out. Then you'd be like "Oh yeah! Now I remember it all!" and there will be others there. And they'll be like "Hey, it's been awhile! Nice job being Spencer, I think you learned quite a bit. You were a good kid." Then I will respond with a "Yeah, it's good to be back." Then I'll probably help someone still physical then go back to mortal life. I won't remember much from the past, but just enough to be better at living. And so on...

"I think... the only reason we die is that..."
"Dude, dude, I know what you're going to say and I am so completely on..."
"Wait, wait wait wait wait... shh shh shh shh shh... the only reason we die is because we accept it as an inevitability. Haawhh"

Yea I was gonna say something serious down here but it's all been said.

Re: What happens when you die?
Though, I doubt any likeliness of it happening, I have hopes of an afterlife.... I do believe its possible for a higher plane... Though it is hard to believe. I have hope.
