*sigh* Ok, this has gone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and you are not getting it.
Someone hurt him, please?
Someone hurt him, please?
I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.
Re: Hosting issues
What am I not getting?
The part where BillF accuses me of doing one thing in a PM and another in public?
Or the part where MB thinks I'm complaining because my link was removed?
See, what YOU'RE not getting is that I have no problem with the link being removed as per the reasons in the PM (besides me thinking it's a little over the top but hey, not my forum). What I have a problem with is the FALSE reason given in the PUBLIC thread which makes it appear as though I either didn't know what I was doing or was intentionally trying to get people to see some inappropriate material.
Both are false. I intentially posted the links I did. And neither were inapproriate.

I am so confused... I though the key word was "unintentional" here? God, maybe it's because I just read all of those posts at once and thence it made complete sense to me, where as reading them one at a time over the span of a couple hours may have been confusing? I don't know. Someone help me.
I looked to me like Billf, who is a perfectly fair, reasonable, and generally likeable guy, used the word 'unintentional'... And then you clearly said in your pervious post

Isn't that kind of the point? Shouldn't this argument be dead? But if anyone does get tired of this argument, I have a dead horse lying around here that could use a good kicking. Up for a game?was intentionally trying to get people to see some inappropriate material
My sig would have contained the secret of life, but I'd already clicked submit.
Re: Hosting issues
The point is I did nothing unintentionally.
Everything I put in my post was put there intentionally. There was not a single link in my post that I did not with a clear mind, intend to be there.
That's the point. The PM stated that the link was pulled because the FTP contained objectionable material. That is correct. There is objectionable material in the ftp directory.
The files in the FTP directory are intentionally there.
And I did not link to them for good reason. So BillF can feel free to change his post to indicate it was a "content" problem. Not a link problem.
I have never and will never post objectionable material on a forum. And I have done no such thing here.

I have the text of the PM messages between you and billf now.
Billf's mention in the Abuse of Power thread was brief and did not contain the entire play-by-play. It's not expected to. It's a brief note for people who may wonder where a thread went, and as a reminder to management of why something is gone.
This issue is done. The link is not coming back. Any further discussion will see the thread locked.

If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

"KalvinB has been added to Amanalphion's "People I Don't Like" list."
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and assume you're somebody and that I should care.
"I have the text of the PM messages between you and billf now."
Good.

Has that image been moderator approved?
interesting that .txt doesn't make the browser treat the file like a txt file.

Yes, it's been approved, since he's been using it for almost a month. If you have a question about whether something is appropriate, try asking management first.
Browsers treat the file based on the file headers, not extensions. Using .txt to get around graphic link restrictions on some sites is a well-known and documented method.
