The Last Unicorn

Post by Arcanos » Mon Feb 24, 2003 2:36 am

For any fans of the book and the old movie. I know that it was one of the things that inspired my love of fantasy as a kid... I found out from a friend that they are making a live action version of it.

http://www.the-last-unicorn.net/flash-ind1.htm

The release date is sometime in 2004. Most likely Christmas.

But I figured I had to start a thread for it for everyone that hadent heard already. What do you think about it? some of the CGI tests they have avalable for the unicorn look pretty well done for the stage that the film is in.

Oh My God! Miracles do happen! Nothing, NOTHING greater than this could ever grace the screen. Thank God they're doing it right with such talented actors and Peter S. Beagle is taking care of the screenplay.

I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.

Hopefully in theatres around christmas 2004. So after this last Lord of the Rings we get to wait another year to get another great movie to fill that void!

I knew this last year. If I thought ya'lls liked it I would have told you. I practically have the book memorized, when I was a kid I watched over and over and over and well, you get the point. Beagle has been working closely with this flick so it is sure to be a hit. Also slanted is a non-animated version. Let us pray....

That movie scared the crap out of me. I had some teacher who showed it to us in elementary school, and for years I would have nightmares about being turned into a block or something.

I might as well chime in seeing as I've loved this movie since I first saw it, many years ago. Also Fixer, I think the song is "All I have to tell you" or something like that.

Honestly, folks, what do you think of Jonathan Rhys Meyer doing Schmendrick? I dunno - I can't see it. I would have figured Schmendrick to be older...and more like Michael York in his Three Musketeers days. Thoughts?
