I listen almost exclusively to talk radio and any time I am waking up and hear them playing alot of someones music I know they died. It was the same way with Mr. Rogers. I heard his song and knew what I was waking up to. Today truly was a sad day. I can't say I'm the biggest Ritter fan but Noises off is one of the best movies ever made in the comedy genre. He was superb in it. Johnny Cash is awesome. I spent the day (before work) listening to his music and watching the Hurt video ( http://www.markromanek.com/video/14.html or http://demand1.stream.aol.com/ramgen/ti ... 3/cash.smi if you havent seen it ) I don't think I have ever seen a better or more moving music video. Not ashamed to say it made me cry the first time I saw it.

oh damn, i LOVED 8 simple rules....and Cash was truely one of the greatest musicians, not JUST for county music but he was influencial in almost every genre in history. he will truely be missed....

Never heard one of Cash's songs all the way through (if at all), so I can't comment.

Ritter, on the other hand... yeah, he was in a lot of funny stuff, and I can't say anything bad... but in all honestly, my first reaction was "What's going to happen to '8 Simple Rules'?" because I like the redhead... probably my biggest weakness.
She's 24, y'know  :shifty:

EDIT: 17 September 2003
YES! "8 Simple Rules" will continue! Just heard it on the radio this morning, and boy, am I stoked... WOOHOO! More power to the other fine actors on the show... let Katey Segal be remembered for a more 3-dimensional character! (personal opinion: "Peg Bundy" was more cartoonish than "Leela"). Also, see previous paragraph. :D

Did anyone here watch A Tribute to John Ritter on TVLand? It was marathon of all the shows John Ritter was in. One show from each series he was a star in, and every show he guest starred in.

My favorite one, excluding Three's Company, was Hooperman with John Ritter as Perry Hooperman (cop show, not like Cops, with actors. Think Cheers, only no laugh track and serious) and Three's Company. Hooperman looks like it was shot recently, probably in the 80s. I hope it gets a permanent time slot at TVLand eventually.
