I own a 2003 Audi A3 1.8T

have never driven a car that is as well built and as comfortable to drive.

If you want a fast car, buy an old mazda rx-3 and put a 20b turbo in it.

If you want a nice car buy the Audi :-)

Maybe I'm misreading the name, but... I fail to see the point in putting turbo in a 1.8 liter engine.

go for the A3 instead .. smaller car same engine :p
audi's last long.. they're good cars... ecpencive.. but good
they don't rust...

Mav: it's mostly just to have a turbo in a "cheap" car so "regular" people can aford a turbo car... a pop off valve and your car sounds fast too :p

i'd go for the A3 1.8T if u don't need the space in the A4

Why buy a new car that might get stolen if you can buy an older car that isnt stolen? if you want price/speed/reliability id go for an 86 toyota celica supra... the last year of the mk2 supra is the best, it doesnt rust, the 5M-GE lasts forever, unlike the 7M-GE/GTE which the mk3 has, those have major head gasket problems.. plus the supra seats are über comfortable, and you can find em for ~$3000 in really good shape.
I really need a new sig....

The depreciation value of driving it off the lot is just not worth it IMHO. Buy a used car, and buy whatever type you want. Sidenote: There already is a car thread...

Plus if you lease the car, by the time you get it all paid off you spend ~7 times more than the sticker price.. or so ive read >_>

I would buy the A3, but I'm in America: land of everything good except cars.
Buy American. That's all I have to say.
You can't really "Buy American" when it comes to cars anymore. You have American plants in Canada and Mexico. You have Japanese plants in America. On top of it all they all use parts manufactured in a bunch of other countries. I have a little piece of crap Ford Festiva. American cuz its Ford right? Nope, manufactured by Kia for Ford which is probably why its still running at over 221,000. If I had the dough to buy a new car I would probably go with Dodge if American or one of the Japanese brands...

chaos... it all depends on where you live, I suppose.

Living just south of what is still very much Motor City, all my American cars are AMERICAN cars.

And I'm proud to report my American buick seems like it will run just as long as your "Kia" Ford, if not much longer.

You've got another 70,000 to go but hey, with good care I'm sure it will. I feel that Buicks and American cars in general are great cars. The comment about my pos Festiva was barbed because I've had bad luck with used Fords. I just don't feel compeled to buy strictly American cars as the automotive market has been drastically globalized and is continuing in this trend (Daimler Chrysler, plant locations, etc...). Perhaps I would feel differently about this issue if I lived closer to Detroit. I know that I feel strongly about certain issues because of my being raised in an Air Force home and agricultural areas....
