Now, see, while I can see the sarcasm in there, this is what I'm talking about.

People who are "veterans" can recount various facts of history that mean nothing to newer people, yet seem to be saying "Ha ha, you missed it."
I have only been on the forums since around when Martin moved to here from ezCrapBoards and although I have to agree that iggz can be a monumental asshole at times (and he knows it), I believe that is just his personality, not any real attempt on his part to act so.
STORY TIME!

One day in second grade there were three new kids at school. Come recess time, all the kids went out to play kickball. Only, the three new kids didn't know what the rules were.

The first kid decides he's going to play and runs up there and just kicks the ball randomly, and he's not even up to bat. Everyone else is like "ARG WTF R U DOIN N00B?" Eventually, through interaction, this kid learns how to play by the rules. But not before being open to some pretty harsh criticism, and one or two people forming bad first impressions about him. He makes some friends and some enemies, in about equal amounts.

The second kid walks over and doesn't join the game. Instead, he watches... he watches for two whole days of recess, trying to figure out what the rules are and how it is run and who the better players are. Then on the third day, he politely asks if he can play and to everyone's amazement he plays exactly by the rules, and does rather well at that. People start to think "Hey, that kid is pretty nice/cool." This kid makes more friends than enemies, and becomes quasi-popular.

The third kid already knows without asking that he is not invited to play, and that all those kids look down on him for being the new kid. He imagines all these horrible things they would say to him if he asked to play. Instead of trying to learn how the game is played, he watches it for only a couple minutes and says to himself "that's stupid. if we did it MY way..." and then finally, when he has built up enough rage for these strangers, he walks over there, grabs the ball and RUNS as far as he can, and KICKS the ball over the fence and onto the highway where nobody can get it back. Now everybody frickin' HATES this new kid. Just like he predicted they would.

Okay, storytime over. :D
Thank you Shyknight. You put that into perspective very well. It beared repeating for anyone who may have missed it.

I don't care who's right, who's wrong, or what you meant to say. Only thing I care about is the Truth. If you have it, good, share it. If not, find it. If you want to argue, do it with someone else.

Well, my view is that for the most part, people aren't biast towards the "n00bs", although on occasion, some punk thinks they're all that and starts going off on some n00b for some stupid reason. The sad thing is, it happened with a few forum members that I once respected and thought were really cool, and then they go and spread the hate like there's no tomorrow... So, even though very few people contribute to the problem, and on rare occasions at that, just once is enough to drive away some people.

As far as BtP... hmmm... maybe I should head over there...
