Don't worry Terrene, being a day behind doesn't make it totally impossible. At least I hope so, because I'm having trouble getting started...

I'm 3 days behind.

*screams*

That's ok, all it takes is one REALLY good day to get caught up. Some days I think I would rather die than write one more word, and other days I can't seem to stop typing.

How are you guys doing so far?

/me kicks Blaze in the ass.

If you're having trouble getting ideas, or overcoming your inner editor, maybe you just need to start the book really simple so a child could understand, and then go back later and elaborate on it. Works for me.

Yeah, and this way you know you wont lose your audience. You want to catch their attention from the very beginning and keep them, not buck them off like a bull the second the real plot comes in. Just hold tight to some sort of plot, and everything will be ok. Minor preperations make all the difference.

Best way I think you can write a novel is to start with your basics as Shyknight has mentioned, then formulate the problem and the resolution.

Along the way you can cram whatever twists and turns you want to make the novel more interesting.

It has always worked for me.

I've just started, and im on 3,000 words.

I gotta say, this is hard especially with college and work, but damn it's fun.
