You guys have to realize, it was more sarcasm than anything else when I said "I lost all hope"
Everyone says it's only sarcasm when the hammer is brought down on them by several different people.
Blind Pyr0 wrote:And one thing, that makes me not like Arnold is- I do not support gay marriage. Marriage is unique to a man and woman

Though he does go to say that he will give gays equal rights, I still belive it is wrong to deny any two people the gift of marrige.
It's called civil unions, pointdexter.

Would you mind clarifying which side of things you're on?

It would indeed help us understand what you're upset about if you decided what it is you're upset about.

All I know is that if I was still a California resident, I'd have voted for him. It's not like there weren't better candidates, so I think that the voters in CA made what I would assume is an educated choice. Yeah, he's an actor. Yeah, he doesn't have much experience. Regan had practically no experience when he took office and, if I recall, was an actor as well. Just because the guy's an actor doesn't make him a moron. Hell, he speaks better english, as a second language I might add, than some of the people that I used to live around in CA. Yeah, he's got a funny accent. How does that make him an idiot? Before you go and insult the guy, think. Let the electrical impulses in your brain send the message to your mouth before you put your foot in it. I, personally think he'll make a good gov.

I'm still gonna stock up on guns and booze. Why? Becasue the Cubs may actually win the World Series and I'm convinced that it's a sign of the apocalypse. So, if you need me, I'll be in a bunker in the middle of the desert waiting for the downfall of humanity.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inablity of the human mind to correlate all of it's contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should travel too far.

Well, I think what makes people think he is stupid is his use of sayings from his movies in his election speeches. Not the slickest of moves

But if he didn't use one liners, what else would he have to say ? I heard he didn't actually take much of a stand in the debates, except claim he would make things right again..

Wow. You sure have been an utter moron lately, 0bb3. What, did you run out of legitimate "I hate America!" comments with actual reasons and decided to just start pulling stuff out of your ass by not even commenting intelligently on Arnold being elected?
I just think Arnold is funny, CALIFOURNIA, VOOOTE FOR MEE!
We even get our beloved comic author making a thread appearance and making an intelligent post, and you're stuck in this little "Look at me! Look at me do stupid stuff!" rutt of yours.
You sound like god have stepped down to earth.

What part of "beloved" didn't you get?

I think Arnold deserves a fair chance, I mean, how bad could he be? I think that he was only elected because of who he is, but, as my dad put it, if someone gets a job from a friend in the company, it doen't mean that they won't do a hell of a job.

Man, I hope that made sense to someone other than me.

Actually, i'd rather work with someone who actually applied for the job instead of someone who got it from a friend without having to apply for it.

As can be expected, Arnold's election has been mocked in Canada, but at least Arnold was elected to his current office, which is more than we will be able to say about Paul Martin. - J.J. McCullough ... who is ironically Canadian.

Go back to your own "Democracy" and leave the rest of us to our actual voting on significant leaders.

Yeah, and I bet the same people said the same exact things about Reagan when he was elected as well.

You people need to get over the fact he was elected, and at least wait and see how he does his first year. God, it pisses me off when idiots go out of their way to make such irrational judgements. It's always this way with politics -- they expect anyone who is voted in to make changes that are immediately noticable, or else they're nothing more than a fraud or a bad elected official.

Well since I aint canadian but live in the democractic country of Sweden I do not know what the hell you are trying to say. My point being, I don't think Arnold got elected because he is a particulaty good politician, he got elected because he is popular. And you have that situation, democracy have failed.

It is not entirely unheard of for a "popular" non-politico to oust an incumbant that people are not happy with. When the populace is frustrated with the status quo, they are much more likely to turn to someone with less of a "taint" that other politicians seem to have (look to the outsider). Now, if Arnold does a horrible job and still gets re-elected, it will make you wonder. But give the guy a chance before you pass judgement on the state of democracy.

This could either be a good thing for CA or the Arnold novelty could fade away like another celebrity governor we were talking about not too many years ago... We'll certainly know shortly.
