rlRadio is now a whole year old! It's unbelievable that we've managed to stay afloat, even after the "great depression", when we would go weeks without listeners. I'd like to thank everyone who has stuck by rlr through all its difficulties, making this achievement possible. (I'm not going to thank specific people, because there are so many who contributed that I know I'd leave someone out.) Actually... I will thank cronO/cz, seeing as he did kind of start the whole thing. Thanks everyone! And here's to a stong second year!!

I try to connect by Winamp 3 by copying and pasting the address, http://bob.poddle.net:10006/listen.pls , into the open location box. It says it can not connect. What do I do? Sorry, if this did not belong here.

It is most likely that no one is broadcasting. Mo0, in my limited experience with winamp 3, I had no problems with connecting to streams. That was about the only thing I didn't have problems with. You may be thinking of the broadcasting DSP plugin, which only works with Winamp 2.x. Maybe 1.x, but why would you do that?
You can check the status of the radio at any time by simply going to http://bob.poddle.net:10006 in your web browser of choice. That page will tell you whether the stream is online, give you a link to tune in to (in case someone mis-spelled something), let you see how many others are listening, and generally, the name of the broadcaster.

I feel like an ass for being aloof during our 1 year aniversary. (Is aloof even a word?) Anyway, happy birthday to us, and thanks to everyone who participated, past and present. Special thanks go out to those of you who actually hosted the server for a while, or even did mirrors for some time. Oriden, Ghaleon, myself, iMav, Darklyte, and anyone who I forgot. (You're not less important, ny mind just isn't in the best shape at the moment. It's almost 4 am.) And thanks to everyone who DJ'ed too, past and present. There's way too many to list, but to the founding 4, I give thanks. Gowerlypuff, iMav, Oriden, and myself. While we may have parted ways throughout this experience, it's still one of my favorites. I've had a great time so far (even through my inactive periods) and hope we go on strong for another year. Thanks to Liz, Greg, and Ben too, even through out the period of radio drama we had, I apprciate the part they played in getting the radio a great deal of it's popularity. And with this, I salute you, the listeners, as well. Without you, we are nothing. But without us, you are still everything. Thank you and for old time's sake....

I believe it could be possible, you'd just need to get some nice eq for your PC - my friend just installed this soundblaster job that had all sorts of audio input in the front, even opticals - just hook your tables into that and I'm sure you could spin live.
Reading Perl is like reading music. It can be a little hard to get into at first, but once you can read it, it's like food for the soul.
Any audio equipment can be used as long as you can get it into the sound-in port on your soundcard. then just use the linerec:// plugin or some other line-in thing that works with the shoutcast plugin.
I had actually rigged up a way to put my phone on the air. Didn't work too well though because I didn't feel like taking the time to tweek it.
