the driver i'm useing is not from ati, it is experimental but i forgot where i got it (and due to that patent i doubt that it is legal) :?

its a radeon 8500 earlier i said i got it in 2001 but i may have gotten it in 02

my friend has the same card (it was a deal at a online store when we got them, get one get another at 1/3 cost, one of those deals) anyway i put his card in my computer and ut2003 at the settings i was useing is unplayable with his card. but, when i put my card back in it worked fine

now these cards are both 64 mb ddr 8500, i got an abnormal card

everything i've read and seen says that it shouldn't work, yet it does

EDIT: it is working with S3TC once again i don't know how the hell its working at this point, damnit its confusing but i'm not going to mess with it, it works, its not suposed to but it does

It would probably run better with the official ati drivers, but I'm not convinced you arent using them.

damnit i went back though my config files trying to figure out what was different and i screwed it up, ut2003 doesn't run anymore so i'm not any closer to figureing out why it worked but it isn't now.
