At one of my former jobs our pop machine just had cans, and I generally only got a half hour lunch. Most of the time I would sit and read while eating, so a 12 oz can was a bit too much for me. Due to people spilling drinks all over the fridge we weren't allowed to keep open cans in there(even though I did put small cups over mine to keep them carbonated), so the 8 oz cans would have been perfect for me.

2 liter = 10 mins. of soda goodness. Seriously...those dinky 20 oz. soda bottles last maybe 2 mins. when I'm thirsty. Cans? Heh...I put one down in seconds. :shifty: What? I can't help it. I drink a lot! Not to mention that I put water and lemonade down by the quart. Needless to say...I'm never dehydrated! I just think that they should start selling six packs of 2 liter bottles. That would make me happy.

Yah...3 liter bottles are nice. But...man...when you drink as much as I do (I think I could give Greg a damn good run for his money in the soda drinking field), it begins to cost a lot. I used to have the money to buy a couple Red Bulls a day...I don't anymore. Ahh...those were the days....

*blinks* Wait... *uses powers of mental conversion* Nope... failed again.

Well what ever the size is in METRIC... it would be too small. I am from the school of "Hey dude... My pint is empty again... get me a stein next time!". No drink will be big enough for me... and these small cans are sounding dainty.

Just stick a 2 litre (about a gallon) infront of me and I will be happy... also kind of cheaper if you go to the supermarket to get it.

I'm not sure if I'll ever understand why a 3-liter bottle of soda seems larger than a gallon of milk. After all, isn't a quart supposed to be larger than a liter, and aren't there 4 quarts to the gallon? Still, living in a dorm and drinking soda like I do, I wish you could get 16oz cans. Bottles just lose their carbonation too fast for the larger ones, but seeing as I don't have a job it looks like I'm gonna need to start buying the big bottles.

The 3 Liter bottles only flaw is that you feel like an infant while drinking directly from one. :P

I'm just lucky I get most of my drinks and snacks free thanks to the orange bowl always overstocking.

The smaller sodas (8 oz) were introduced to target several markets:

Children who cannot drink a whole 10 oz soda before they lose interest or have to pee.
People in a hurry who do not have time to drink a 10oz soda before it loses its fizz.
Soda vendors who use the machines that can be designed to handle more different brands of sodas because each soda is smaller.

The soda companies are trying it out as a test market to see if there is sufficient demand to warrant continued production. If people do not like them, the companies will stop making them.

I don't feel like an infant when drinking from one! I have big hands! You know what they say about guys with big hands? They like big sodas. What? :shifty:

Oh, yeah, feel free to send me sodas and snackage! I take donations in Coke or Pepsi products (preferably Coke...Dr. Pepper is the best, tho). I can give you the addy to send them to if you wish.

I've seen teeny-tiny cans of pop on trains, planes (not automobiles) and what have you, being served alongside liquor as a mixer
How much is 8oz in millilitres anyway?

What are you, a Frenchman? Be proud of your self-confidently irrational and arcane English Standard measurements.

"Screw Metrics! My car gets 18 rods to the Hog's Head, and I LIKE it that Way!"

Anyway, when I do drink soda, I drink it slowly. If you're thirsty, you should drink something that isn't so tough on your system. There's no reason to drink loads of soda.

What's confusing me is the measurement of liquids in weight, rather than volume.
Standard to Metric is just another nail in my bewilderment coffin
