I think that's a Working Designs game; I meant to pick it up at some point. Or I'm thinking of something else.

No this game is from Enix. Stunning game!

The game has you play as Lenneth Valkyrie. She is a valkyrie (obviously) and Odin has commissioned her to gather souls for the oncoming Ragnarok (end of cosmos). So you journey to midgard and collect the souls of recently deceased warriors, journey to large dungons, and slay the undead.

on a side yet evil note. Most of the US voice actors of pokemon also did many of the voices of the chars of Valkyrie Profile XD
