sweet...I wish I knew japanese...Can't wait to see the movie...Can't help but wish it were a playable game...can't help but wish they would make a game where you played sephiroth...It would be nice to have a FF game where you were the bad guy...
Any japanese speakers who care to post a transcript get free cookies...maybe its under the "description of the trailer" link but I can't get it to open...

Think about that statement... You struggle against the bad guys by playing the good guys as it is. In your struggles, how many times have you thought to yourself something like, "As long as he doesn't cast Fire 3, I'm OK"? Think of the powers of the bad guys compared to the powers of the good guys. If we played the bad guys, the games would be over in about 20 minutes -- including the ten-minute intro.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

I think the best way to play that out would be to depict the "bad-guy"'s rise to power, then you have to hold your empire and fight off varioius do-gooders.
Trust me playing the bad guys is easier than many people seem to think, I was the Evil High Preist of War on a UO shard, and my army kicked ASS (but for the quest to play out we had to lose...

This movie-not-game is going to be so cool. I'm going to have so much fun watching-not-playing-because-it's-not-a-game-it's-a-movie-and-this-thread-should-be-in-the- "Anime, Music, Movies, and Television" I won't know what to do with myself. *hint hint*
But on a more serious note Squares recent track record has been par at best. FF7 was good but half the people I meet hate 8 while the other half love it. 9 had a recycled dumbed down battle system that is too easy to max your level on, a storyline that's been used a million times before. And to top it off, the game can be beaten in 12 hours. 10 uses the same cookie cutter romance save the world story that weve seen in the past elevendy billion square games that there really isn't any point in playing it.
In short, I'm giving Advent Children the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not going to expect it to be good.

What is wrong with that, seriously, just because your mission is to save the world and have some romance, dosn't mean there are the same story with minute differences. FFVII and VIII have both are far from the same story.
As for VII-2, the trailer makes me think that the movie should be really good. And did you say they are remaking VII, like adding voice-over, better graphics, etc..That would be great too.
