BAH! get an XBox and an XBL account. It comes with a demo of Mech Assault (the second version of XBL does at least). Come to the dark side.

You wouldn't understand me
The last time I went to the US, most people thought I was speaking German :shifty:
What language were you speaking?
English with a heavy scotish accent would be my guess ;) Us Americans.. We dont hear so good when the voice doesnt conform to our assumptions of what spoekn American English sould sound like. My father for instance has a hard time understanding people with even the slightest british accent.. You can imagine how pissed he was when I picked one up the last time I was over in London. Unfortunately it wore off after about 2 weeks of being around people who didnt have the accent :(

I have a a mic... as well as a cell phone. I tend to just call people that I wish to talk to OR I have used netmeeting. I like things that are already built into my comp and that I don't have to install. New things scare me... Bad MC.

New things scare me too.. but I downloaded it and gave it a try by "phoning" my mother.. I sat in the dining room while she was in the bedroom..

...all I heard were shrieks and squeals because the rats were climbing all over her.

Verdict: it works quite well :P

Don't be scared of it, MC... It's actually quite easy to set up and install and stuff :) I already did it... and you remember how hard it was to get me to install win2k :P

Talking to someone in Sweden for more than 2 hours is a form of addiction. :P

OMG NO. NO NO NO NO NO. I have been using voicecomm technologies for years, including long bouts with RW, even running multiple RW and later BC servers.

MUCH MUCH BETTER!!

I tried something like this with my friend in Alabama for about an hour one night. All we did was make fun of each other's accents (Southern drawl vs. Boston's 25 lettah alphabet... "R"s are ovah-rated).

The best voice conference software ever is Teamspeak. The only drawback is it's need of a server, but past that it's pretty much exactly like IRC, but without text.

No, Mandor. Trust me. I've used pretty much every form of voicecomm out there--extensively. I even had an ActiveX plugin on my website that was publicly available, kind of like a web-based voice chatroom. TS, RW, and others are just plain not as good as Ventrilo.

Welp....I signed up...nick is the same as my nick here: siriansenemy. Uhm...yeah...feel free to give me holler anytime...well, that is, if I'm not off at class or passed out in my bed. Oh, BTW, sometimes I have a bit of a drawl to my voice (sorta like a half Texan half southern hillbilly accent), so if ya'll ever chat with me, and wonder about it; it's from living in Virginia and Texas (but I was bor in Florida). Okay...yeah...I'm gonna go and be quiet now.
