You have no right to complain about image sizes.
If you computer does not support higher resolutions, buy a new computer.

Seriously, I'm sick of hearing people complain of resizing images because they make horizontal scroll.

Resizing an image or thumbnailing an image to reduce load times is a completely different story, however, if you are incapable of supporting higher resolution than 800x600, shut up and buy a new computer.

Thank you.

Not everybody can afford to go and buy a new computer when the feel like it Iggz. Are you going to buy a computer for them? I think not.
I know mnay people who are just hanging by a thread trying to keep their house with little extra money for luxuries as a new computer.

edit: and also not everybody can get a new computer as im sure many people view the forum at work/school where they have older computers because there is NO need for a faster one. What are they going to do?

Yes zen. My uncle, for one, can support 1600x1200 (probably higher) but he thinks its crazy that I surf at 1280x920 (its 4:3 and noone gets that, i hate blacklines when i use TV), when he says 800x600 is the good. However, that was like 3 years ago...

Anyway, if you want to go wild and crazy, you could have options of both sites, and use that "Earthlink Browser ID" thing with all the extra information (location on screen, size of browser, size of screen, whether its maximized or not) in it.
hahaha i don't come to these forums anymore :x

My sizes:

1024 x 768, laptop
1600 x 1200, desktop (extreme image editing)

All of them in 32bit color, with a decent screen refresh. Somewhere around 75 - 85 Hz.

I run 1600x1200 as my native resolution. Anything else seems smaller.

However, I usually have a half-dozen or more windows on the screen, so my browser is usually scaled down to less than 1024 pixels wide, meaning it scrolls on my screen. At that point, I get annoyed.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

1280x1024 here, but my browser window defaults to 1024x768, which leaves me PLENTY of room for a music player, non-shaded, at the top of the screen, an IM window when I feel like it, and still have access to my pager.

I run at 1024x768 because my eyes aren't just PERFECT... and anything bigger... the text gets a little evil.

My PMMX 333Mhz 52 mb ram computer supported higher than 800x600.

I got that when I was in the sixth grade.

That was SIX years ago.
