Even though it's been explained elsewhere...
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
It's my favorite poem (How can you NOT like it? It's so nonsensical.), and the bandersnatch is about as obscure as the slithy toves (Even Final Fantasy, known for pulling from myths and completely bastardizing them, has had Jubjub bird appear a few times, but to my knowledge, "Bander S." only appeared in the fifth), and less... slimey. Being lithe isn't a bad thing, but slimey? Besides, they GIMBLE.

Really, I just needed a name and that's what came to mind. I haven't used it anywhere else, though...
"Or even worse are those times when I catch myself trying to twist his message to make it say what I want him to say, and then only hearing that. This can be a very subtle thing, and it is surprising how skillful I can be in doing it. Just by twisting his words a small amount, by distorting his meaning just a little, I can make it appear that he is not only saying the thing I want to hear, but that he is the person I want him to be." -Carl Rogers

It seems I never contributed to this thread.

Fairly simple, really. Way back around (holy hell) six years ago, I needed a sock account on AIM. Something I wouldn't have to keep explaining (my first account, on AOL, was pure FF fanboyism, and my other future accounts up to the point were all internet-rpg names) ... so as I joke, I took whole "I'm nucking futs" thing, and got StruckingFuggle instead. I forget why I settled on that ... (I think I was thinking, "life is a strucking fuggle to get right ... aw, fuck!") ... but really it was mostly just a joke to bounce around for a while while I thought of something.

And ... it obviously struck. And when it came time to register an account on RLF, I was deciding between my AIM name, and my email address (NowhereAndNowhen), and thought ... eh, I love NAN, but it seems kinda emo, and it's freaking long ... and StruckingFuggle is funnier.

AND THUS IT WAS SO.

Bandersnatch appeared in Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy X as well. Possibly others. Awesome poem from an awesome book, though.

Strucking, I believe those are called "Spoonerisms."
My slow descent into madness seems to have abruptly become a flaming plunge.

It's when you switch the beginning sounds of two words. It's named for William Archibald Spooner, who was apparently notorious for them.

Oh good lord...it's like walking around my house! My FIL does it ALL the time - sometimes he'll say it right, then repeat it wrong because he thinks it's funny. It's irritating as hell if you have to put up with it on a daily basis. Unfortunately, my husband does the same thing. Fortunately, not to the same extent or I'd have him killed.

Ah, Genetics and the Nurturing Environment... what would we do without them.

I'm just girliegirl cause that's my husband's nn for me. I don't wear much pink and I don't like dresses. lol So that's confusing. :?
