I'm still trying to work on getting the most out of my computer. Lots of settings to tweak.

Also on and rocking. Galka War named Gumlak. Just hit level 7. going pureblood til I can go for dragoon. I'll be on all weekend, I sleep very little. well, ok, I'm about to go get 4 hours right now. but I'll be on all day to level up. see you then

I hear ya. I'm running on 4 year old technology (933mhz, 512mb SDRAM "133" :cry: ) except for the video card which I just bought specifically to play this game. I'll figure out my best settings after I figure out why I don't have a chase camera option in the game. :P
I thought I wanted a career but it turns out all I really wanted was paychecks.

Try all new DAMITOL!! Take 2 and the rest of the world can go to hell for up to 8 hours!

I'm a bit more current but not top to the line.
2ghz Athlon
512 DDR 3200
120gig HD
GeForceFX 5200 Ultra

Runs the game pretty smoothly with everything on except bump mapping at 1024. Bump mapping in this game seems pretty silly since it still looks the same ^^;;

But anywho, anyone want to join up? I keep getting creamed out there and could use some traveling buddies.

I'm definately willing to start knocking out some of the missions coop as it makes life that much easier and getting rich that much faster, too bad I don't have much time between classes and studying to be on this weekend *sad*. Everybody should just start adding people to the play online mailing lists and such, get the real life mailing list going and possible an ezboard too though squares in game tools seem to be enough for keeping tabs on linkshell management.

Greetings folks! Long time reader, first time poster.

You guys seem like a great group of folks, and none of my regular crowd seem to interested in FFXI, So I'd like to hook up once I get into the game. Copies should be here beginning of next week. NOthing like living in Rural Manitoba to delay game release aquisition.
{EDIT} one quick trip to the metropolis nearby, and game is acquired.
1.5 hours of character fiddling later, established a beachhead on the Phoenix server.
Playing a Mithran Thief named "Rogana". Hope to run into some of you soon!

Ok ive got FFXI installed and played some.. great game, though offputting at first in town. So far found 2 English speakers.. but no idea how to buddy people, heh.
