Must less romantic than Shy, but these are what I mean when I say these things:

1. Yes = I have thought about it and I think it is a good idea.
2. No = No, ask me again and I will spell it for you. It is a bad idea.
3. Maybe = I have not decided, ask again later when I have had a chance to think about it.
4. I am hungry = Nourishment is required. I am going to go find food now.
5. I am sleepy = Going to bed, now.
6. I am tired = I need to recharge. Give me about 30 seconds.
7a. Nice dress (said to a strange woman)= Your dress enhances your appearance. Good choice.
7b. Nice dress (said to a romantic partner)= Wow, it is beautiful and all but it makes me want to take it off of you right now.

9. I am bored = If I do not find something to amuse myself right now, I am probably going to embarass you by doing something stupid. How about helping me look?

14b. Can I take you out to dinner? (said to a romantic partner)= A night away from the house with no one cooking or washing dishes sounds like a great idea to me, shall we go?
15. Will you marry me? = (I have only said this once. I got burned, kinda shy about every saying it again but I am slowly warming to it again.)
16. You look tense, let me give you a massage = Your stress is leaking over on me, let me get rid of that so we both feel better.
17. Let's talk = There is something going on and I need more data to make a decision. Your input is necessary. Please converse with me.
18. I don't think those shoes go with that outfit = The color of the shoes does not match the color of that outfit, or it looks ridiculous. Try a different pair.

Psssht. Don't Worry Shy. 98% of girls say that they are looking for that, but only 2% really are. Look at some of your female friends. Look at who they are with. I remember thinking this in college. I was the nice guy, always finishing last. Thos female friends of mine kept giving me advice on how to talk to the girls I was interested in. But who were these girls dating? A$$holes, of course. I should know, they were good friends of mine. A$$holes, yes, but good friends nonetheless.

So what to do? Maintain your integrity, even if every fiber of you says that you should try being an a$$hole because they get chicks. It's what I did, and I guarantee you. That 2% is well worth it. WELL worth it.

/me gets ready for the onslaught of girls telling him "I'm not like that!" and decides to preemptively say "every rule has exceptions" and be done with it...
