New Eyes-A poem

Post by CutieCorey » Sun Nov 09, 2003 3:43 am

I wrote this about recovering from being with someone who wasn't good for you and the process of moving on, even though it is not always the easiest thing to do. I wrote this one over the summer. I hope you enjoy.

New Eyes

I'll never know why your darkness sang so sweetly to me. The warmth of your heart made me believe you were a bearer of light. I'll never forget the day I left you. Another man led me out of your cave and into the sun. Scared of this new world, I slipped into shadows and thrived in the rain storms. You almost blinded me again, but as I turned around to look at the daylight one last time, I saw its hidden beauty. I realized there were no tricks. I didn't need to hide anymore. I had a light radiating from me now. I had real love. I can adjust to the light, but you will never understand its purity.

:)

Fantastic!
I don't care ALL that much about the wording, (Although that is good too) but it sounds like you were in personal struggle and came out better in the end. For that I am happy!
"Go get the Happy!"
