Ok, I have a project that im having a bit of trouble on.... so far its going ok, but making it seem more real is what im having trouble with... what i have to far:

basically what i want to do is make it look as real as possible, what its depicting is the UFO is going through the picture of the balloons at high speed, right when the shutter was clicked. any help and or critique would be nice.. and yes, I'm going to take off the weird thing at the top.

you could use the blur tool in photoshop to make it look faster, also, if you made it behind the balloon, instead of in front of it, which shouldn't be too hard. I dunno how, but if you lowered the quality of the UFO to better match the quality of the picture.

I'd make the UFO a lot smaller to start with. It looks like a frisbee the way it now.

I'd add more detail, like a diffrent color, or windows for some realisim, unless you don't want that

hmmmm, usually UFOs are pretty big... i think the problem mine has is the UFO is in front of the balloon... i think if i cut the balloon out and put the UFO behind it, it would look better... I was thinking about making the top bubble thing a light blue, but then i lost the illustrator file i used to make it ;_;

Yes... because UFO's are big does not mean you make it bigger in the picture. You make it small so that it looks far away.

More motion blur on the UFO and a tiny bit of noise should fix it a bit

Better. A few suggestions:
-Make them slightly different sizes. Its unlikely that they are all the same distance from the camera.
-Change the angles. If you look at the angle of the picure and the angle which you see them at, the disk part is almost vertical.
-Adjust the shading. The shadows on them seem too dark and the light parts seem too light.
-Add noise to get them to match the quality of the picture better.

what you said KR is mostly what my instructor said, although he thinks the lightness/darkness of the UFOs is fine...
