SugoiCon

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

SugoiCon

Post by AniDanny » Thu Nov 13, 2003 11:42 pm

I'd never heard of SugoiCon before, but I mentioned it to a friend of mine (who happens to be a HUGE fan of the Mac Hall comics), and she was like "Isn't that in Cincinnati?" So I looked it up and there it was! Turns out it's about a half hour drive for me to get there, so she and I may end up going to visit you and Greg and Matt and Ian and anyone else that happens to be from our favorite online comics. But I really don't know much about it, so maybe I should go look into that more... Anyway, if I end up going, I'll make sure to visit you!

Meh, it's still way to far away for me, considering I live on the NE coast. Have a good time AniDanny as well as anyone else who's going. Someone post some pics afterward! :D
Either this post is intellegent, and well written or I just wasted 3 seconds of your life :D

Liz, you guys need to come to something in the Southeast! I'm too poor to make a trip to Cincinnati! All of my friends read the comic and are big fans, as am I ^_^.

Do you know if you guys will be on a panel, or just in the vendor's area? If there's a panel, what day will it be? Trying to decide which day to go!

Thanks,
--Penny

We know nothing about the con. We think that there will be a panel, but we're not sure. Also we will have a small booth to sell things at and sign things.

The problem with us going to conventions is that we have to pay for that kind of stuff. The only reason we are able to afford Sugoi con is that they are paying for us to go. If you would like to suggest us to some other conventions near you, then we would gladly go. Unfortuneatly we can't afford to fly all over the place unless its paid for.

You guys could stay at my hotel for 29$ a night....that's all I can help with. Oh, and food ^_^. I have been told that I'm an excellent cook. As for transportation, um...you've got me on that one. I don't even really know if there's a con around here. It'd probably be in Atlanta if it was...

Liz's 'rant'/newspost;
Then we got back to the hotel and promptly went to tossing around the frisbee in the hotel lobby.(Kids, please don't try this at home.) Well we had security called on us and they took our frisbee away.
After reading that section, I just had to tell you about the frisbee incident that my school had.

Seniors have a 'grad nite' thing where they get to travel to Florida and play in Disney parks during the night hours and something like that. I didn't go, so I didn't pay attention to the details. ANYway, at the hotel they were staying at 2-4 guys were playing with a plastic frisbee in the hallway on the first evening. (The chaperones had handed them out in 'goodie bags' with the year written on them or something) No big deal, until BAM, the frisbee hit a sprinkler head and turned the thing on. Since they were on the third floor, they flooded the bottom three floors of the hotel. Everyone had to be relocated, the hotel now had 3 floors of water damage, and it was pure craziness.

Thanks to cell phones, the whole school knew about it the following morning. Charges were filed against the guys, but I'm pretty sure they were dropped because of the argument that a plastic frisbee should not have started the sprinklers in the first place and that I think the sprinkler system was on the old side/should have been better maintained/replaced.

Hey Kitsune. There is always Dragon*Con in Atlanta. It's a generic geek con, no specific theme to it, that I know of, but it has a huge turnout. A friend of mine went this year and went outside for the parade to see about 50 stormtroopers marching down the street.
I wish there were more cons in the SouthEast. My gf got a Chii costume she's so wanting to wear to a con.
If the RLC crew ever goes there, I'm so totally gonna be there.

Man, stop the whining! You guys don't know what distance is.

I live in New Zealand. How many cons do you think we get here?

I'll tell you how many. Count all your toes. Then minus 10. If you only had 8 toes to begin with, you're getting close.
:P
