I have 3 clocks. I have a weather clock that goes off 15 minutes before I need to get up, just to rouse me out of really deep sleep. I have a clock across the room that goes off when I need to get up. Then I have a travel clock that is my "you should have been up 5 minutes ago" clock.
I used to have one of those ones that had nature sounds, butr more often than not, the sounds would simply get incorporated into my dreams.
Anyone else find it better to set the clocks for odd times? Like waking up at 6:30 is a bitch, but waking up at 6:31 seems to make all the difference??

I think I'm going to have to set my alarm for 5:30... It's set for 6:00 right now, but I keep hitting snooze 'til around 6:30 usually... or I reset it to 6:30... and I could use that extra half hour, I really could...
Doesnt' help that I don't really look forward to getting up, making myself lunch and showering just so I can spend another hour and a half sleeping on the bus ride into work... though I've only ever slept through my stop once, so really I don't NEED an alarm clock...

I cant really use my computer as an alarm because I typically use headphones (thus speakers = off).
For me though, I sleep on the top bunk and have my alarm clock on the other side of the room. As long as I avoid sitting in my big leather desk chair before I head for the shower, I'm up and ready to go. Otherwise I sit there and space out (occasionally begin to doze off).
As for last year, my roommate and I had a loft with one alarm clock on a shelf between the beds on the loft at our feet. I had late classes all week so my roommate was always up before me and whenever his alarm went off, I always lunged for the off button and shut it off before even realizing I was awake. Typically (that is when I actually woke up enough to realize what I did) I didnt realize it until right after I had shut it off. Luckly he was a very light sleeper and woke up by then...

I'm a light sleeper. My body tends to wake itself up minutes before the alarm goes off, though I will still be groggy. Say I have my alarm set for 6am, I wake up and look at my clock when it reads 5:58. I'm awake but will continue to lay there in bed for two minutes until the alarm goes off and I pull myself out of bed. It's funny how when I'm laying there those two minutes will feel like hours.

If I want to wake up on time, I have to set my clock to go off 2 hours ahead of time. I usually have no problem slapping the snooze button 12 times before waking up. :/
I saw an advertisement for a purely
EVIL alarm clock once. The first time you hit the snooze button it would snooze for 10 minutes. The second time for 5 min, the third time for 2:30 min, fourth fro 1:25 min, until you could only snooze it for a few seconds. It was made for people like me.

I'm the exact same way, at least when I'm normally rested. Given current situations, my body tries to steal sleep whenever it can.

Somewhere I have a recording of the sound of an underwater earthquake. It's one of the scariest things I've ever heard, and makes me jump when I'm awake and hear it. I wonder how it would work when I am sleeping...
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

I have to buy only very specific alarm clocks, because I'm deaf when asleep. Really. So I have to get alarm clocks with a plug for a bed shaker. Mostly because I'm too lazy to cut the piezobuzzer out of a normal clock, rig up a relay, and attach a motor to the other poles. Then I could do it with any clock.

It's a good thing I have a watch with a loud alarm. I just put it on top of the drawer, and every morning at 6:15 it just goes off, and I have to get up to turn it off....
Or, if I want to amuse myself, I should attach it to my leg. Now waking up would be really interesting!

I am an extremely deep sleeper. (Hey, I like my sleep.) According to my sister, I once slept through a fire detector alarm though methinks she's just lying.

Oddly enough, I wake up almost instantly when in direct/almost direct sunlight. But on the days with dark mornings, I rely on my alarm clock which refuses to buzz maybe 30% of the time.

No! I was sitting right outside Center for like half an hour and the person never offered me any!
Not that it would have gone well with my mocha, but I'm still somewhat miffed that she didn't even offer.
