Finally getting an x-box this weekend...

Play it? Watch it? Listen to it? Post it! Discuss Movies, TV, DVDs, CDs, and Evangelion! Compare Computer, Video, Pen & Paper, Sports, and any other games you want. Most anything entertaining is fair game.

Finally getting an x-box this weekend...

Post by Nada » Thu Nov 20, 2003 8:06 pm

...what games should i pick up first.

it comes with some star wars game, and some tetris game. I will buy the double pack of GTA...what else would you all suggest. Ohh and I plan to wait for Halo2 before I buy any Halo games, enough of my friends have it that it wont be a problem. Image

Star Wars: KOTOR
Mechassault (Now a Platinum Hit with a $20 price tag. Best online play on the XB.)
Splinter Cell (also a platinum hit)
DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball (If you're into boobs, that is)
Soul Calibur II (If you don't already have it.)
Otogi: Myth of Demons.

And get the Xbox Live starter, if it doesn't come with the system. Live is the best reason to own an XBox.

I second KOTOR, Soul Caliber II, and also suggest Crimson Skies (my friend picked it up... I think its better than mechassault online)

If you get the latest version of the live kit, it comes with mech assault anyway;)

And I agree with the others, and it depends on what kind of games you like... need for speed underground just came out for xbox (but it's gimped on xbox, better to get it for ps2 if you want to play online), or midnight club 2 if you like..well street racing..

Well, my good buddy Keith would suggest BMX XXX and DOA Xtreme Volleyball.

Seriously though, I love Halo and Dead or Alive 3

Thanx guys...I used to be big into console games...but that died out a lot when I left home 3 years ago and left all the consoles behind for my bros...been doing the whole computer graphic thing and web design thing...but after playing a little GTA and Halo at my friends house last weekend, I finally am giving in and picking a x-box up.

Just needed to get some titles to check out, since I haven't been keeping up with everything that has com out recently.

You can get XBox Live bundled with Mech Assault for under $70. I like Mech Assault, but it is pointless to play without XBL.

Crimson Skies is fairly short, but a good game, it also has Live play.

Amped 2 is a decent game as far as sports type games are concerned, although I suck at it

Morrowind: The Game of the Year edition is out which includes the full game, plus both of the expansions that game out for the PC, all for under $40.

KotOR: Great game, even if it is pretty buggy.

Soul Calibur 2: Yeah, it's all shiney.

That's pretty much all I can come up with at the moment. Time Splitters 2 is an ok game and so are Tony Hawk 4 and Underground, but they are not exclusives and they aren't anything super great. I like Time Splitters 2, but most people would much rather play Halo as far as multiplayer games go, which I still suggest you pick that up. the more copies the better. Multi-console games of Halo are the best way to play the game.

What? A GameCube looks good on top of a X-Box.

Or used to play Metroid, Zelda, Resident Evil, and the best version of SC II. :D

And I should add Unreal Championship to the list for FPS fans. Also, Links 2004 and Smash Tennis are supposedly pretty good... I haven't played them, but they got good reviews, and the PA guys loved Links.

Exclusives? I hope you don't mean that as exclusive to xbox, because they aren't. I've seen quite a few games which have been 'exclusive' to xbox, then been released on ps2/pc a short time later.

I forgot the word "not" in there.
