It is amazing how much fun you can have when you elminate TV.
Too damn right. I used to spend hours sitting on my ass in front of the TV. I stopped doing that, and actually took up cycling properly a couple of years ago. I'm a lot better off for it, too.
Then their parents go out and buy them something like BMX XXX because they don't bother to educate themselves on what the game is actually like... all they know is it's on little Timmy's Xmas list. Then they bitch and moan about what kinds of messages games like this and GTA3 are sending our kids.
People like that are pissing in the genepool.

About the same time it takes to take the remote out of a kid's hand because it belongs in the parent's. You're falling into the same trap much of society is... trying to blame the networks for something that is the responsiblity of the parents. If you think Comedy Central is so horrid, block it out of your channel settings.

Personally, I was shocked to hear that they would air something like that on basic cable. They do say some rather obscene things, but aside from the gay songs (not all, but some were gay), it was a kick-ass movie! It was frikken hilarious!
Mr. Garrison: How would you like to go see the school counseler?!
Cartman: How would you like to suck my balls?
Class: *GASP*
Mr. Garrison: WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!?!
Cartman: Oh, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! See, what I said was *picks up bull-horn* How would you like to suck my balls, Mr. Garrison?

Also, I couldn't agree more, Miroku. It's an easy task to prevent the child from seeing such things, like channel blocks. If you have a crappy service like I used to have (no tuner box, just an antennae and a switch-box), disconnect the switch-box and take it with you when you go to bed, lock it in a box, whatever.

I'm confused. Kids DON'T already know this language? Also, the people complaining about the movie, have they ever actually seen it?

Well, when I was that age, I knew the words because adults used them. Still my generation would not use them. Back then, it was very rare to hear profanity. Today, it is like commonplace. You hear 3rd graders cussin' like a sailor and they think nothing of it. I'm not saying profanity is bad, but back then it was like alcohol or cigarettes in that you have to wait to be old enough to use them.

I blame my parents for making sure I knew how to swear profusely. I learned it from them.
They, of course, blame each other, and start arguing.

I now swear profusely because I have good reason to. Near-misses from cars, crappy weather, and occasional bouts of hypothermia when I end up stuck in the rain without a waterproof.

Hell, it's not just language! Let me tell you a tale...
There used to be this R/C Shop/indoor track, where I turn-marshalled on a regular basis. One day, This guy brings his little girls in with him. Well, anyway, later in the day (it was a LOOOOONG race day...), I got tired, and fell asleep between 2 arcade machines. In my sleep, I feel something hit me, which I figured was a dirt clod from the track. I look up, and there's this little brat giving me the finger! It's just shocking, seeing this little child flipping you off like that!

Lose the racist speech. Permanently. I don't care if you think you're making a point, or being sarcastic, or even funny. It ends now.

What about that episode where they said shit 162 times? It's not a bad episode actually (very funny) it teaches you that you shouldn't cuss.

Hmmm, parents are just lazy... they need to stop letting TV, movies, PS2, and the computer raise their kids and do it themselves.... I know most families have both parents working, but they should at least try.... oh well, stuff happens i guess. people today are way too sue happy/offended/ignorant for their own good.
I really need a new sig....

And I'm sure your parents parents feared exactly the same thing. Apparently the Apocalypse hasn't started yet, so I guess they didn't do THAT bad.
