Most of the music that comes out these days is not that great. I find myself listening to music from my teenage years more often than any new stuff.

With the consolidation of media, we now have 7,000,000 radio stations all playing the same mediocre pop crap. There is some very good new music out there, but listening to the radio or watching MTV isn't the way to get it.

speaking of MTV, I say something on there thank scared the crap out of me. They showed a music video

It must have been a mistake. Or maybe the video was a part of some shitty new reality TV show. :D

Let's think: You get pissed and rant when they say they hate rock and roll. So of course, you say that rap is utter crap as well. Perhaps they listened to rock and roll and their honest opinion of it was that it wasn't that great, hm? But of course, they can't have, because you're right and they're wrong.
Well as I said before they don't listen to rock n roll. They didn't know who Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page were. They hadn't even heard any of their songs. But when I said rock n roll they instantly started to make fun of us because we listen to stuff like Blink 182. I didn't tell them that I listen to Blink 182. In fact I don't even listen to that. But because I said rock n roll they thought that is what I meant.

Now they said they listen to rap. I'm ok with that, but when the stuff they mentioned (Jay-Z and some other rapper whose name has slipped my mind at the moment...) was apparently "better" then the stuff that I listen to, and they've never heard, then yeah I think I should be able to critizise the stuff they listened to.

And yes not all rap is bad, but most of the stuff out these days isn't that great.
This just means that they heard a small sample. Suppose they have a friend who likes rock, and he forced them through about 10 different songs, each by a different performer. None of these songs appealed to them, and they all followed the same path. They can safely say that rock, in their opinion, is crap. How many rap songs, might I ask, have you listened to through and through without being biased?

I wonder why people hate me?

No reason. I swear; all pop, almost all rap, and most rock these days is completely horrible.

Ok, I've mentioned before that I've listened to rap. Not only that, but when I hang with my friends most of the time we listen to rap. I also ride the school bus for a combined time of an hour everyday. All they play is rap on their too. Now the guys told me what they listened to. I've heard what they listened to.

Once again I'll say they haven't heard any of the music I was talking about, and the only rock they've heard was Blink-182 shit.

Must I say this again?

And I've listened to plenty of rap songs that I can pick out pro's and con's out of. Personally I think the Fugee's had a nice groove going down with their lyrics. I also think Wu-Tang Clan had it going on with their style, which felt like they were really rapping on the spot. Eminem has awsome lyrics. Snoop Dog has catchy tunes and a nice laid back rap style. The Roots have a nice rap band thing going on with actual performers in a band, not just a DJ like other rappers. I wasn't being biased, that music those dude's listen to suck ass.

When you say the music they listen to sucks ass, is that an opinion or a fact? After all, if an opinion is pissing you off, you shouldn't be using any of your own. The correct thing to do would be to give a fact that proves it may not be good, like a statistic of some sort. But instead, it was YOUR opinion, and yours alone, that you based this off. How do you know that all they heard was crap like Blink 182? Did they say to you, "All I've heard is Blink 182"?

Well they didn't say thats all they heard but they did imply that all rock n roll is Blink-182.

And it isn't just my opinion, I don't know anyone who likes Jay-Z, and I know plenty of people who will listen to it and call that crap. PLENTY OF PEOPLE! Not just 5 or 6, but more like in the hundreds.
