Okay I have a question. If a guy says that he'd never date a black woman because black women aren't attractive to him, is he racist? Or just really picky? Because I'm like 1/20 black and I was given this reason as to why my attraction to him was in vain.
Oh, and can we notice most stereotypes suck? I mean, we hate to be labeled, but there are so many uncreative people that make being a certain race hard. Coming from a private school I learned the following:
blacks are loud and ignorant.
whites are trashy but snobbish and the women are sluts.
asians are all very intelligent and will rule the world some day.
mexicans are dirty.
These are NOT my opinions. These are the ideas that tend to float around in peoples heads. But you must admit that sometimes it is true. But I've always thought it was a culture difference not to mention a family difference. In the long run I never worried much about race, and it really confuses me sometimes because black people are sometimes racist too. When slavery was in, if you were like 1/30 black then you were still black and you were still property. Today, I find that a large amount of my "completely" black family and the people I run into at school think that I am not black enough. I remember being interrupted once by a complete stranger who saw me talking to my black cousin at a family reunion. She said "Girl what you doin here? You talk too smart so you must be white" <-- and that's almost a direct quote. I think she just implied that an intelligent black person can't exist. But I digress. I just wanted to ask my question.
(Oh btw I can't be racist because i'm white/black/asian/native american so I have no room to talk)
First I need to clear up one thing that may be thought of later in my post. You can be racist against someone's own race. The best example I can think of is Adolph Hitler who was racist and was working for the extermination of the Hebrew (aka Jewish) race. This is interesting because he was of Hebrew stock.
And to you question about racism, I say yes he is... if it's based soley off the fact that you have some "black" genes in you. If a person finds anyone with black genes unattractive just because they are decended from black family. On the otherhand I find certain traits unattractive, for example I do not find overly large noses attractive. Many people from Hebrew families have the large noses. I know this because my family on my father's side is Hebrew. Does this mean I'm racist against the Hebrew? No, I just dislike one trait that happens on some of them.

What about gay men? If I say I'm not attracted to gay men, does that make me a homophobe?
Also, what if I also happen to be attracted to young straight boys.

Lose the racist speech. Permanently. I don't care if you think you're making a point, or being sarcastic, or even funny. It ends now.
When people ask me what my favorite band is, I make up a name, because if I say a real band, they will be all like "Dude, they ain't punk, they sold out. You're not hardcore." </sarcasm>
Just because a band likes to get exposure and make money and shit, doesn't make them not punk.
True, but they often totally change their style and subject matter to fit the current trends.
Back to the original topic. It's so nice to see that society can actually make a person think they're racist because they happen to dislike one particular group of people who happen to be a minority.

When someone says "punk", many people believe they are referring to just that. Punk. Not pop punk. Not Ska punk. Just plain ol' punk rock. And all I will say on that is: You used the word punk in your description of the band. Thus, they are punk. Even if it is a "different type" of punk.Mista - It's not punk. It's pop punk. VERY poppy punk.
