first of all i would like to point out that at no point was this about decreasing the load times. it was only about giving someone something to do whilst the page is loaded, which doesn't affect the time it takes in the slightest.

And you've yet to give a good reason as to why you can't just highlight it while you wait. Using highlight like your finger is not a good reason, as you have a mouse arrow that serves just as well. Aside from which, the background in that case is a 115 *byte* file, If anything, you should complain about the size of the comic, the ColoGuys banner, the two link pictures, and the logo, as those take up 2/3's of the comic load (some 200K.), that is, if you were really interested in increasing the load speed of the comic.

If you increase the loadspeed of the comic, then you can get that 115 byte file loaded faster. Of course, you missed the point entirely between longwinded ranting and raving about stupid inane crap and ignoring what everyone else had to say. I expected as much.

second of all, i'm not here to 'make friends' or be 'polite' to these forum no-lifers. if i wanted to, sure i would be all smiley and happy, i might of introduced myself, but i'm sure if you think about it really hard, you would realise that hey, i don't care if a bunch of no-lifers like me or not.

Well, considering we have several 56K'ers already who, let me check, don't give a flying crap about load, and further, use their mouse to track their position, I would suggest to you that it is already as usable as it's going to get.

Anyway, I hven't yet seen the page load in 56k but i'm guessing it's a long wait. But it's probabably something you're going to put up with as the site is looking quite nice right now and I doubt it's going to be made uglier to help out the 56k people. Plus you're getting this comic for free don't forget so why should Greg change it to suit you?

What good does bumping the thread do? The longer it stays at the top of the page, the more people will disagree with it and the less likely it will be to have its intended effect. Not that it would if it were to just fall away anyways... this thread is pointless, as its creator does not seem to have a point beyond trolling, therefore it can achieve nothing.
