Real Life Meet in Dallas

Post by 13x13 » Wed Dec 24, 2003 7:34 am

PA has it's necrowombiecon, has anyone tried to set up a Real Life Equivalent? I would assist, but living in VA makes it kinda hard to help out those in Cali.

Update:
Alright all, Dallas it is. Please let me know if you are interested. Also if you are from Dallas suggestions would be helpful. I know that there is a Medieval Times that we can go to, and the last time I was there Six Flags was fairly close.

Dates August 13-15th

It has been discussed a few times, but nothing ever came of it.

It's not exactly a CON, but it's on the right line.

Thought it might be interesting if we had it in an easily accessible location in the US, such as Vegas. Vegas is easy/cheap to fly to from all over the US. Not to mention the night life, etc.

That's the nice thing about Vegas, You don't need to be 21 to have a good time. So what if you can't gamble.

Lose it on gambling or just lose it in general? ;)

I agree 100%. Vegas is a wonderful choice!! I go to Vegas frequently, and am never unsatisfied with the travel. P.S. I live in Vegas
Really though, if you're under 21, Vegas is just like any other town.. if you're over 18 we've got strip clubs. If you're over 21 we've got an entire street dedicated to taking your money.

see, were we to organize a con-like thing, it would be expensive as hell to get a convention hall there. they arent cheap to say the least, and their for the rather...large...conventions. if were gonna try the con deal, maybe doing it somewhere towards the middle of the country and north a bit, makeing it easier for the greatest amount of people to come, be it from the sates or canada (hey, lets face it, if you're dedicated enough to FLY from, say, europe or the like, at that point it doesent make much of a difference)they will have an easier trme getting there then if it were focused in one side of the country. yes, vegas is a good time, but it's also a good place to lose ALOT if your not careful, other towns can be just as fun as long as you know where to look. hell, practically every town has a club or something that will even let people under 18 in, so haveing fun wouldnt be a problem. if danceing isint your thing, we'd have a con full of geeks, and i'd place my money on them bringing at LEAST laptops so we could even have a LAN were we to find a hub.

Location does not matter as much as airfare, as most people would be flying. A place where it is inexpensive to fly to and host an event would be best.
