I'm might have a LAN party this saturday. At least 2, maybe 3, forumres/ircers will be there. If any of the rest of you want to come along and we can do a meetup to help set up the BBQ then. Send me a pm and i'll give you my addy and keep you informed.

EDIT: BTW, I just moved. I live on the NE side of San Antonio, off 35 between O'conner and Judson.
LAN is final. Saturday at midnight at my house. All RLF SA'ers (or near by texans) should come so we can talk about the bbq. Oh and don't forget the gaming.

PM me and i'll give you my addy and other info.

I live in the same city as Infin, so while it's potentially a day's drive, it's still a bit far - plus, that whole general loathing of Texas except for San Antonio. :D Actually, Austin would be okay too - but Houston, Dallas, or Amarillo - ugh.

LAN at midnight. Odd choice, but I'll try to drop by. Please see http://www.firekite.com and tell me if you're interested in my monitor.

I have one of these at work, so I'm saving up for that for home, as I quite enjoy it - otherwise, I'd have been interested in the monitor. :)

I so need a better monitor.

Well I had to think about a time and date for a while. Had to work around the open times for others in my "LAN group". Have to work around school and work for all of us. Saturday at midnight was good for most of us.

I actually work till 11 that night so I'll have to run home and set up fast before anyone gets there. If anyone does stop by try not to be early, please.

Deacon since you seem interested I'll pm you my address.

Got it :)

Yeah, except you'd get 2 more inches of viewable screen real estate, resultions up to 2048x1536x32bit@80Hz, etc with this one, and for like $200 less :)

If someone buys my monitor, cool, I'll be ordering a 2001FP. But if not, I won't be disappointed. I love my monitor. The 2001FP just calls to me. Of course, a 22" CRT next to a 20" LCD, while orgasmic, would take up quite a bit of desktop space and, more importantly, kick my wallet in the nuts.

I know it'd be two more inches of viewable real estate, but that eats up precious desktop space, as you said. What I have at work is just awesome - it's got such a small footprint and it's crazy light, as opposed to my hunk of a 21" at home - it's an old NEC built with brick technology.

I live less than 20 miles from the Texas border, but I couldn't come if I wanted too. Sorry.

Alright, well since we were talking about this in the "Don't Mess With Texas" thread, I decided to resurrect this, and see what we decide on. The confusion about where it was was caused by another thread called "RLF Meet Dallas", but I decided to ressurect this one because well, this one is mine.
Right, well, RLF meet in San Antonio should work well. Of course, anyone is welcome to come. It's a straight shot down I-35 (it passes through Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kansas City, Des Moines, Minneapolis/St. Paul before culminating in Duluth), and I-10 runs right across the lower part of the US, from CA to FL.
This sounds good to me. SA also has the most to do, aside from just being Handiest to most of us.

Considering recent events, it's not likely I'd be able to go to anything of the sort.

Maybe in 3 years, assuming my ship isn't in. :?

according to mapquest, it would take me about 15 hours to get there from where I live, so unless I'm highly fortunate, I probably won't be there :(
