I hear human flesh works great for cleaning swords.

First, no it's not blood I'm cleaning off... not yet anyway. Second, give me a break, Garr. It was twenty bucks. Just something I wanted to have. You don't start a collection with the rarest items. I probably don't have to tell you that a really high quality katana cost at least 5 to 6 thousand dollars. And lastly, I can't believe this thread got to a second page.

ssjgokuhan, sorry mate,.. yeah you could do alot worse for $20,..... but i'm rather picky about swords, having been trained to makes them and weild them in various differant ways, even the ones I just have for display have to be high quality,...... for a REALLY high quality Katana your looking at around £40,000-£1,000,000,...... but you can usually get a decent Iaito or Shinto for a couple of hundred if you look in the right places,.....

there a guy in Florance that sells good swords,..... and there's awlays market stalls in Dehli with nice cheep ones,....

but over the net,....

http://www.barringtons-swords.com/ - VERY good sowrds, reasonably priced,....

http://www.bladesunlimited.co.uk/ - VERY good prices, mostly mass-produced,. but good quality,.......

refering back to ninja sword:
Acctualy ninja is a different sword style, instead of the blade being curved it is straight it is most likely thiner, but sharper. The blade can be as long as a katana's.
I would show you a pic but I can't find me digital camera.

the only real differance between a Katana and a Ninja sword is that the ninja sword balde is straight so it can be carried, drawn and sheathed on the wielder's back,.

Its also slightly shorter so it may be used in close quarters (Small hallways, where longer swords would scrape against the ceiling and walls)
Not to mention the sheath is about 1-3 inches longer than the sword, so items may be carried inside of it (saves space)

Katana's, however, which are carried at the side, with their curved blade, are more fun in some respects because if properly trained, merely drawing the sword can be the death strike.

yeah, mostly since as a natural motion you can draw it out and still make a pulling motion with it, which is what you do if you want a clean cut. simply hacking away with a katana will get you nowhere. and i already noted the main differences between the ninja-to and a katana on page 1.

Blaze, there are few ways to draw the Katana in a killing blow,.. the draw is oftern a block or a move to break your attacker's concentration (oftern smacking them in the belly or the face with the pommel),... search out Iaido, for more info on the art of drawing the sword,..... but the draw and the cut are NEVERthe same motion,. with expirance you'll feel the differant change in forces,. is youwere to strike as part of the draw it would be mroe a slash rather than a cut,...
