Witch Hunter Robin

Post by Aether » Fri Feb 06, 2004 7:15 am

So... new anime coming up on adult swim. Looks pretty freakin' cool from what previews and such I've seen so far. Go here to watch a clip. What do you think? An awesome new show, or another train in the tradition of "Blue Gender"?
In the end though, it's really the bees that get Sam.

Dude it's frickin awesome, some friends of mine got the first few episodes last semester. It's heavily based in Wicca, so if you have a problem with that steer clear of it.

Ya, I liked WHR, but the American voice actors still sound stiff. Maybe they get better with later episodes. CN needs to start running series with subtitles, darnit.

I find this to be much more interesting news:
Sci-Fi signs deal to make live action version of WHR.

WHR will probably been a good dubb, Adult Swim has actually been getting better at that. It's the production comapanies responcibility, not theirs. They've just been BUYING better quality translations and dubbs. (Ghost in the Shell: SAC this April! ^.^ )

The only problem now is WHR itself. Though a good series, it would have been better as 13 eps, not 26. As it is it drags like theirs no tomorrow. There are cool scenes of Robin blowing things up, torching misc people and things, and one REALLY cool scene where she implodes a guy, but that's not enough to keep the series going.

Oh, for you LOTR fans, Gandalf shows up, in the guise of an old woman in a wheel chair. How does grav know it's Gandalf? Because the only thing the woman will do is carve the rune G into the ground with a staff, and give mysterious warnings that won't help.

Well I saw the commercial for it on CN and I think it's gonna be awesome. I just can't wait

It is kind of slow, but overall it is pretty good.

Saw the previews for WHR, never heard of it before, but looked good enough for me to tape & watch. (On to late for me to actually watch live, unfortunatly).

This might actually be the first anime I start watching. :shifty:
Yeah, never watched an anime show before. Not because I don't like them, I just... never did, I guess.

Yeah, if I remember correctly from like the three episodes I've seen, the next one is better.
