I thought Frank Miller was going to be involved in the screenplay?

http://www.batman-on-film.com/b5news.html You rang m'lud?
As far as I know, Daron Afronsky and Frank Miller (dear god, I know) were writing a Batman : Year one script. Someone else was doing Batman 5:The Scarecrow Is The Bad Guy, and someone else other fanwankery like Batman Vs. Superman and Batman Beyond.

Now as best I can tell (because I get bored of hype and often ignore these things) Batman Beyond and Bvs.S were sacrificed to the god of terrible movie ideas, Batman : Year One was thrown out because it had too much potential, and Batman 5:Some Scarecrow Related Subtitle was decided to be not good enough.
So under the pretence of a "rewrite", Batman 5 unashamedly cannibalised Batman Year One, taking the basic ideas and turning it into Batman :Intimidation.

This is a Year One -ish affair, with a young bruce wayne still tormented by his parents death returning to find gotham decaying yadda yadda bleagh.

It will have Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy, the Irish guy in 28 Days later), Ra's Al Goul (possibly Viggo Mortenson or Daniel Day Lewis :D ), and apparently Carmine Falcone, and I like thier attitude, so it may well be good.

Ra's Al Goul always made for the best cartoon episodes back during the earlier seaons of the 90's run.

I've missed most of his stuff, as although I really like batman, I don't like how they usually handle him(I prefer reading Batman stories in GN's too)

From DC's BIO

Real name: Unknown
Occupation: International Terrorist
Base of Operations: Mobile
Marital Status: Single
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 215
Eyes: Green
Hair: Grey with white streaks
First Appearance: BATMAN #232 (June, 1971)

Ra's Al Ghul's true name is lost to the sands of time. Of all the Dark Knight's foes, "The Demon's Head," as his name translates in Arabic, is perhaps the most dangerous. His life extended through periodic immersion in so-called "Lazarus Pits" excavated along Earth's magnetic ley lines and filled with an alchemical bath of acids and poisons, Ra's al Ghul's plan is simple: to cleanse the Earth through genocide and create a new Eden.

For centuries, he has amassed great wealth and power in this campaign, a crusade almost preordained to bring him into conflict with the Dark Knight. "The Detective," as Ra's al Ghul regards the Batman, is his most worthy opponent, and the one man most deserving of wedding his beautiful daughter Talia and inheriting the Demon's empire. But while Ra's al Ghul engineers global genocide-seeking out weapons such as the ancient Wheel of Plagues which spawned the Ebola Gulf-A plague that nearly decimated Gotham a year ago--he will forever remain enemy to the Batman.

My friends were just talking about the next movie the other day. I said the only bad guy they really had left to use was the scarecrow (at least as far as well known adversaries.) Then we all said it would be awesome if they had Ra's Al Ghul, but he wouldn't be popular enough. Guess we were wrong. I just hope it doesn't go the way of the Batman movies after Batman Returns.

Well, both Christian Bale and Michael Caine are pretty awesome, so I have high hopes, despite the fact the the Batman movies have gotten progressively worse over the years (Batman and Robin? Everybody together now: ewwwww!).
In the end though, it's really the bees that get Sam.

I believe that Joel Shumacker has been banned for life from coming in contact with Batman or anything related to Batman on pain of extremely drawn out death, possibly somehow including nipples, for irony's sake.

At least, I wish. I do remember a while ago there was talk of a Batman musical and Tim Burton snatched up the rights to that as quickly as possible just to keep Shumacker from getting them. They should have kept Burton... he knows how to make a gothic GOTHAM work, and he's not obsessed with fluorescent nipples or whatever.

Arnold Scwarzenegger(sp?) as Mr. Freeze... what makes it even worse is that Patrick Stewart was their first choice before they randomly decided on Arnold... *cries*
